It has been a while since anything was written in the blog. What is the status on the transition of RecordPress to WordPress? Let us first show you an image.
Yes, in our development environment we are working on the plugin. While there are much work left we can still give you some good and some bad news if you are an existing user. The good news is that we will maintain the existing database, which means all your records will have an quite easy transition. Some changes has to be done with the database, and you can rest assure we will add instructions for this in the future.
The bad news is the images. While we are investigating this further, the way images is managed by RecordPress as of today is really poor. In RecordPress for WordPress this is handled so much better! This means that images probably needs to be reuploaded for every stored record. Because we are using WordPress, we now use the built in media manager to handle all uploaded images.
Most of the existing settings (like managing users) will be removed completely from RecordPress, since this is now handled by WordPress. As we mentioned in our previous post, no new features will be added to RecordPress in this stage, since all work is focused on making every existing features to work properly.
As soon as we have a working plugin, we will release it on GitHub. In the meantime we’d like to post some few images of RecordPress in it’s current state. Yes, we will make it a little bit more fancy in the future regarding design, but we’d just want to show you some pictures from the current state of RecordPress.
